About CCF

 

In 1982, a Cal Poly grad by the name of Sammy Chu was being discipled by Bob Van Zante, a past Nav advisor. As Bob spent more time with Sammy, he noticed that Sammy was not only a gifted leader, but also an evangelist. Sammy led many people to Christ and attracted fellow Chinese students into Bible studies. As the number of Chinese grew in his group, Bob and Sammy decided that a unique fellowship concentrating on the Chinese population would be a good idea. They brought this idea to God in prayer, and this was the birth of the CCF at Cal Poly.



Mission statement

The mission of CCF is to be a community where people can encounter God and become followers of His son, Jesus Christ. While our approach is to reach people who share in the Chinese culture, our identity is found first in Jesus. We also share in the general calling of the Navigators, which is "to know Christ and to make Him known."


CCF Values

CCF values are qualities and philosophies that shape the unique character of our fellowship. It is our hope that our members will mature in these areas of their faith and will help each other to grow in these areas, too.
