Professor Ben RichertMy area of specialty is commutative algebra. I am particularly interested in questions concerning the minimal free resolutions which may arise for finite length modules. Finding a global lower bound for finite length modules (Buchsbaum-Eisenbud-Horrocks conjecture), or upper bounds for ideals containing a regular sequence in prescribed degrees and attaining a given Hilbert function (the lex plus powers conjecture) are two examples of fascinating problems which keep me busy, if not out of trouble. |
