Graduate Program

The Biological Sciences Department offers a program leading to a Master's of Science degree. The program provides the student with a broad background in the biological sciences that serves as good preparation for employment in industry and/or civil service, for many types of biological work that require advanced training beyond the bachelor's degree, for teaching at the elementary, secondary and community college levels, for independent research, and continued graduate work at other institutions.

Approximately 25 students are on campus involved in study and research. An additional 15 students continue their thesis research or other aspects of their degree program off-campus. Full-time students can complete the M.S. degree requirements in two years.

Upon completion of the program our students enroll in Ph.D. programs or allied health profession programs at other universities or enter careers in teaching, industry, or with governmental agencies.
