Cal Poly is situated in the beautiful setting

Things to do:
Downtown San Luis Obispo is quite wonderful
in its setting, with an intimate scale that
is remeniscent of many European small towns.
The small crevices and the creek that cuts through
the middle of Downtown San Luis Obispo make
it a wonderful place to hang out and enjoy the
day. In the evening, there are numerous bars
and restaurants that accomodate the student
population. Nearly 40% of the city population
is comprised of Cal Poly students.
Poly Canyon is a short retreat into the
rolling hills of San Luis Obispo a stone's throw
away from the Poly campus. Poly Canyon has many
small student projects that were built using
the collaborative efforts of Engineering and
Architecture students. With numerous hiking
trails, it is one of the most beautiful scenes
one can experience in California.
Hearst Castle, one of the most beautiful
mansions in the Western United States is located
in San Simian, about 40 miles north of San Luis
Obispo up Highway 1. Comprised of 110 rooms,
and the remarkable Neptune Pool, it is one of
the most valued destinations for travelers of
all ages.
Further up north, the Napa Valley stretches
with its vineyards, and numerous Wine Tasting
locations along the way.
With an abundance of beaches and resorts,
San Luis Obispo is the perfect place to visit,
and a more serene place to get an education.
