ADMISSION: Prospective students should review all admission information posted on the Cal Poly Admissions website. Admission to Cal Poly is all handled by the Admissions Office, not by individual academic departments. For your convenience there is some information posted here that you may find helpful, but all official admission information is on the Admissions website.

Freshmen applicants are encouraged to take Advanced Placement Tests prior to coming to Cal Poly. Doing so could earn you college credits and lighten your course load during your first year on campus.

Transfer students are required to satisfy a series of specific course requirements in order to qualify for admission to the architecture program.

Once you have received notification of your admission to the Bachelor of Architecture program, you need to download the following important information, and review it thoroughly prior to coming to Cal Poly. There are course options that you need to aware of, a shopping list, computer recommendations, and other important information for our new students. If you have questions about anything in these brochures, be sure to contact our office right away. We are here to help you get off to a good start as you prepare to enter our program.
