For High School Students Completing Sophomore
and Junior Years
Summer 2005
Date: To be determined
Cost: To be determined
The
Architecture Department will offer an intensive 4-week in-residence
workshop designed
for high school students considering architecture as a career
or developing a design portfolio. Students are presented
an
in-depth view of the career through hands-on experience in
studio design exercises, lectures, projects and field trips.
Activities
cover architectural design and history, computer applications,
building science, structural engineering and site planning.
Studios and lectures are taught by the faculty of the College
of Architecture and Environmental Design. Education and career
advising are integral elements of the program.
Participating students live
in residence halls where they become familiar with the dynamics
of campus life. The program typically runs mid June - mid
July,
which includes lodging, most meals, field trips and most materials.
The size of the class is limited to about 40 and usually
filled
by mid May. Qualified students are accepted in order of receipt
of completed application and deposit. Applications and other
required documents for the 2005 program are not yet available.
We are happy to place you on an e-mail contact notification
