fun, and meet the sisters of alpha Kappa Delta Phi at any of our rush events
listed below. See you there!
Check out our rush videos here!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
What is Rush?
Rush is a week long period
in which students can learn more about Greek life. Activities and events are
organized within each fraternity/sorority and open for all students to come
relax, have some fun, and meet the memebers. It is during this time that
students get a taste of Greek life and decide if it is something they would
like to pursue.
Why should I rush for alpha Kappa Delta Phi?
Contrary to popular
belief, there is much more to sorority life than its heavily
publicized social side. Becoming a sister of aKDF
brings many different advantages
and experiences.
- As the largest nationwide Asian-interest
sorority, aKDF connects you to an amazing group of women.
- Develop leadership skills through active membership.
- Participate in community service to enrich your
college experience.
- Become more culturally aware.
- Foster personal growth among a supportive family of
diverse women.
- A nationwide network of alumni provides useful aid in
various fields.
- Create friendships through sisterhood that will last
a lifetime.
What kind of girls join aKDF?
We
definitely do not uphold the "sorority girl" stereotype. aKDF is composed of the
diverse backgrounds and lifestyles of each individual sister. Each girl adds her
unique experience and spirit to our house, building the sisterhood that we
are so proud of. We encourage ambitious and motivated women interested in
enhancing their years at Cal Poly to come rush aKDF.
What can I expect at a Rush event?
Rush Week activities
are designed to offer a glimpse of aKDF to the community. By setting up opportunities
for meeting the members of our house, we hope that others will seize the
chance to get to know what makes aKDF what it is - our sisters. Rush is also a
great time to meet a diverse group of new faces. Any questions you have will
be answered. We simply ask you to come prepared with an open mind, an open
heart, and be yourself.
Will rushing aKDF cost me anything?
Unlike most other
Panhellenic sororities, rushing aKDF is absolutely free of charge! Everything from
food to transportation is provided by the sorority.
What happens after Rush?
Following an informal
interview, the bidding process begins. Upon acceptance of a bid, a rushee
becomes a pledge of the sorority.
What is pledging?
During pledging,
pledges of aKDF will learn the traditions and history of our
sorority as well as build the bonds of sisterhood within their pledge class
and as well as the actives. The pledge period is a time where the best
memories and friendships of your college experience are made.
Does pledging affect academics? What is the time commitment?
Like any other
extracurricular activity, it is up to you how much time you devote to
pledging – the more you put in, the more you get out. Pledging does take
time, but it is definitely manageable, even with a busy schedule. We
understand that we are all here in college for an education and at no time
will we ask you to compromise your academic goals.
