Who are we?
alpha Kappa Delta Phi is the first and largest Asian-American interest sorority nationwide, with 45 chapters at distinguished universities from coast to coast. Our chapter here at Cal Poly was established in the Spring of 1996 by six strong women dedicated to promoting the values of sisterhood, scholarship, leadership, service, and Asian-American awareness. Now, thirteen years later, our house is stronger than ever and continuing to grow rapidly. While we wil always hold dear in our hearts the lasting tradition and strong foundation our sisters before us have established, we are just beginning another phase as the addition of more sisters brings with it many new ideas and insights.

Through alpha Kappa Delta Phi, members are presented with various opportunities to become strong and successful women and make the most out of their college experience.
- We recognize that first and foremost, we are all here for school and value academic achievement. Weekly study sessions allow us to help and learn from each other, and older, more experienced actives are always available to give advice with classes.
- Leadership is also one of the driving principles of our sorority. alpha Kappa Delta Phi is dedicated to building future leaders. Through various activities within the community and taking up cabinet and executive board positions within the sorority, members develop the skills that make them leaders. This experience achieved through the sorority often proves invaluable, as members continue to use their skills in college and beyond to their chosen careers.
- Members are some of the most active and visible students within the campus and community, as alpha Kappa Delta Phi participates in various events throughout the quarter to promote Asian awareness and our national philanthropy, Breast Cancer Awareness. We also volunteer our time to other organizations within the community in order to lend a helping hand wherever we can.
- In addition, alpha Kappa Delta Phi provides many great opportunities to network and meet people from all across the nation. Exchanges with other organizations, formals, sisterhoods, and convention are all great times to get to know new people.
As a part of alpha Kappa Delta Phi, you do not have to be a specific race, nationality, or ethnicity. We encourage anyone who shares our purpose and goals of promoting the ideals described above to rush for our sorority. If you look at all the sisters in this sorority, here and nationwide, you will see how diverse and unique our sisterhood is.
