The American Chemical Society is a congressionally chartered independent membership organization which represents professionals at all degree levels and in all fields of chemistry and sciences that involve chemistry. Activities with the local Girl Scouts and Campfire Kids help the young children of today gain an understanding and a love for chemistry		The dedicated members of ACS work with these kids, teaching them valuable lessons and leading them through some hands on experiences
The student affiliate also promotes unity among the members of the Chemistry/Biochemistry Department		A bond between peers as well as faculty is necessary for life long learning to take place
