Instruction Committee

Responsibilities:

The Instruction Committee shall be responsible for recommendations regarding subjects that impinge directly on the quality of teaching and for providing policy recommendations concerning grading as well as admissions policies and requirements. It will also provide review and input concerning electronic teaching techniques.

In accordance with CAM 481 and AS-357-97/IC, the Instruction Committee shall review the Academic Calendar as proposed by the Provost/Vice President for Academic Affairs before its final submission to the President for approval.

Charges:

  • Review AS-669-08 (WU grade)
  • Review items of Retention Promotion and Tenure Focus Group Report
  • Advising
  • Credit /No Credit
  • Write procedures for Executive Committee approval by the end of fall quarter 2009
  • Review university compliance of EO 1037
  • Grade FD (Failure with dishonesty) - low priority

Meetings:

At least once per quarter.

Membership:

Shall include voting General Faculty representative from each college and Professional Consultative Services. The Academic Senate Chair is an ex officio, nonvoting member. Ex officio members shall be the Provost/Vice President for Academic Affairs or designee, the Vice Provost for Information Technology Services or designee, the Dean of Library Services or designee, a representative from Academic Records, and an ASI representative.
