PolyFit

Our main purpose at PolyFIT is to offer body composition, physical fitness and metabolic testing to both the Cal Poly and local San Luis Obispo Communities. As Kinesiology majors, we aim to promote healthy lifestyle choices and to increase self-awareness in the risks for Cardiovascular Disease, Diabetes and other detrimental chronic diseases associated with sedentary lifestyles. Our professional staff is specially trained to deliver these tests in a confidential manner that will most certainly lead to a fulfilling and enlightening experience.

  • 2 Accurate measurements of body fat percentage: Skinfold and Hydrostatic Weighing
  • Glucose and Cholesterol Testing
  • Muscular Strength and Fitness Testing
  • Flexibility Testing
  • Resting blood pressure and heart rate, BMI, and Waist to Hip Ratio
  • VO2 Max Cardiopulmonary Assessment

ACSM Guidelines for healthy adults 18-65:

Moderately intense (50-70% VO2 Max) aerobic exercise 30 minutes a day, 5 times a week (OR)
Vigorously intense (60-80% VO2 Max) aerobic exercise 20 minutes a day, 3 times a week (AND)
8-10 strength training exercises, 8-12 repetitions each, twice a week.
