Questions and Answers:

1.                 Q.  Do I need to be an engineer to design a rack?

A.  No, a simple drawing is sufficient.  It does not need to be to scale, nor does it even need dimensions.  As long as it clearly shows a design idea, it will be accepted.

2.                 Q.  Do I have to be a Cal Poly student to submit a design?

A.  No, the contest is open to everyone.

3.                 Q.  If my design is chosen will the racks actually be built and used on campus?

A.  Yes.  Several designs will be used to build prototypes.  The prototypes will then be placed on campus for use and the users will be surveyed to determine which designs work best for the riders’ needs.  A committee will then determine the final rack design(s) and the racks will be built and placed on campus.

4.                 Q.  If my design is chosen will I get an opportunity to meet with and possibly work with the class who will be building the racks?

A.  Yes.
