:: Travel Outside the US ::
If you are traveling abroad, including short trips to Mexico and Canada, you must meet the entry requirements of the country you wish to visit as well as the U.S. regulations for reentry. US Citizen & Immigration Services (USCIS) requires current signatures on travel documents for trips outside the United States. If you are not sure your documents are current, please make an appointment with the International Student Advisor as soon as possible. Remember: If you are going to a country that requires pre-authorization for obtaining a visa, you should come to the International Education and Programs at least two months in advance. Please make arrangements early.
For reentry to the U.S. you must have a valid passport, a valid visa, and a valid I-20 or DS-2019 form with an advisor's signature not more than six months old.
All F-1 and J-1 international students who wish to visit Canada & Mexico will need to meet specific entry requirements. The entry requirements to both Canada and Mexico are listed in detail in the International Student Handbook available on this web page.
