:: Faculty Exchange Coordinator Memorandum of Understanding ::
The Faculty Exchange Coordinator (FEC) is vital to the development and management of individual exchange programs. Agreements are usually established through academic connections and personal interest in a particular overseas university.
In the development of an agreement, the FEC initiates the proposal with the support of the department and college. With the help of IEP , the agreement is reviewed and approved by the appropriate administrative offices at Cal Poly (see Checklist). After the agreement has been signed at Cal Poly, it is then sent to the partner university for approval.
After the exchange agreement has been finalized, the FEC serves as the point of contact for both incoming and outgoing students. The FEC has the authority to admit incoming international students and approve outgoing study abroad students. The main role of the FEC is to provide academic advising and professional mentoring to students. In support of the FEC, International Education and Programs ( IEP ) provides student services and non-academic advising.
At Cal Poly, the Faculty Exchange Coordinator and IEP staff will share this responsibility. Please refer to Memorandum of Understanding: Exchange Program Responsibility Agreement for the roles and responsibilities each party will assume.
