- SMARTS/GENIUS is a service available free to Cal Poly faculty and staff. After you register yourself, a search for funding opportunities is performed every day and the results sent to your email address. - SPIN (Sponsored Programs Information Network) is a searchable database of funding opportunities that provides email notification like SMARTS/GENIUS. You can access the database only from on-campus computers or through the modem pool.
