With curricular and research
strengths in cell and molecular biology, conservation biology, ecology, environmental science, field biology, microbiology, organismal biology,
and wildlife biology, the department offers courses with the following prefixes: BIO (Biology), BOT (Botany), MCRO (Microbiology) and ZOO (Zoology).
The department offers courses required for pre-professional training in medicine and paramedical fields. In the teaching area, all state requirements may
be met with an academic major in biological sciences leading to a credential in secondary teaching.
